” If we understand, on the most basic level, that play is essential to leading a happy and healthy life, then one would have to answer, ‘Yes. We should all make time for play, not just children but adults as well.’ An overwhelming body of research on the issue of the importance of play has continued to grow… Play is practice for life’s many challenges.”

PK Move Coach Nancy Lorentz took park in a Yamakasi workshop this weekend in Philadelphia. The workshop took place at Pinnacle Parkour and was led by Yamakasi co-founder, Yann and by Stany of Art du Déplacement Nantes. The Yamakasi is the original group of parkour practitioners from Lisses, France. The name is from Congolese Lingala “ya makási” meaning “strong in one’s person.”
Parkour has been recognized as a sport in the U.K. making that country the first in the world to officially do so. Click here to hear the inspirational Sebastien Foucan, father of Freerunning speak about it.
