Parkour for Senior Citizens

Parkour: It’s fun.

PK is an abbreviation for the word parkour. Hence our name, PK Move. Parkour is a French word which could be translated as “obstacle course running.” Our definition? Parkour is moving through your environment in a fluid, efficient manner. This month, we are telling you why we love parkour. Listen to PK Silver participant Colin. He says, “This is fun. It’s outdoors. And it’s good for you.”

PK Silver participant Priscilla is sharing the #parkourlove with us today! She really enjoys being outside and the social aspect of our parkour community. She notes that she had trouble with her ankles, but now “can do anything with them!” Please try our class if you are 50+ – no upper age limit as long as your doctor approves. This video is from our FREE PK Silver class which is operated in partnership with Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities, City of Alexandria, VA Check our website for more info or to register. You may also contact us to arrange a free trial class for your group!

We don’t really like meetings, but…

… it is worth going because you get to meet so many AMAZING individuals! Even though we’d rather be out playing parkour with YOU, we must keep making new contacts and partnerships, explore opportunities, promote awareness of our services and keep critical financial & community support coming in! This week we had several great meetings. We got up to speed on disrupting the status quo in senior care/services with journalist Meg LaPorte and also learned about Spring2Action fundraising with ACT in Alexandria and Razoo Giving. We met boatloads of wonderful people who are doing the most important work right here in our community and the wider DMV.
