Many thanks to the individuals who donated and the companies who sponsored PK Move’s Pop-Up Playground on April 5th during our Parkour-A-thon. New and returning donors through Spring2Action helped bring us $568 closer to our goal! Added to the contributions received before Spring2Action, we now only $1800 away from the amount needed to make the Pop-up a reality for thousands of Alexandrians! Your donation helps us bring the transformative power of parkour to underserved members of the community.
If you are moved to help us meet our final goal, either as an individual or corporate sponsor we hope you will make a donation to www.pkmove.org
PK Silver is our parkour class for people over 50. Today’s obstacle course included pumpkins, witch brooms, low tic tacs, a modified Italian Job, climbing up the cargo netting like a spider, and creepy catch falls among other SCARY things!
Many thanks for all who supported the Walk to Bust Cancer on Sunday, October 16th, especially those who visited the PK Move obstacle course, participated in the walk warm-up, or took part in our PK Pink Demo. What a great time for a great cause: the prevention, detection, and treatment of breast cancer in low-income women who live in the Alexandria area. Here is a short video of the obstacle course activity.
FAQ: Parkour? How can seniors possibly do parkour? At PKMove, we focus on the foundational skills of parkour with movement adapted to meet the individual needs of participants. Obstacle courses and games are offered to accommodate varied fitness levels and keep our classes creative, fun, and challenging. (Many thanks to Elizabeth, Dorothy, and Colin)
