New PK Silver Class at Senior Center

โ€œFalls, with or without injury, also carry a heavy quality of life impact. A growing number of older adults fear falling and, as a result, limit their activities and social engagements. This can result in further physical decline, depression, social isolation, and feelings of helplessness. The most profound effect of falling is the loss of independent living.โ€ (Comfortkeepers.com)

^^^ This is why we do what we do!!! Today we had a wonderful PK Silver class with our friends at the Charles Houston Senior Center. ๐Ÿ’– We are excited to be working with this fun & lively group to build strength and practice balance!

Some of the participant feedback:

  • โ€œI loved it! I want to do it again!โ€
  • โ€œI did not know what to expect, but now that I know what it is, I like it and want to do it again.โ€
  • โ€œThat was fun!โ€
  • โ€œI didnโ€™t think I could balance [on the precision trainer] but I did it!โ€
  • โ€œCan I go [through the obstacle course] again?โ€

Be the Hope: Four Days Left!

PK Move was thrilled to support the Walk to Bust Cancer again this year! We are excited to report that $40,000 was raised for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer in under-insured women in Alexandria.

In order for us to bring our special brand of ninja magic to such events, we need your support! Please consider purchasing a t-shirt to help fund this and other important programs.

Ninja Reading Hour!ย

PK Move’s Ninja Reading Hour was amazing! We were excited to welcome 10 children and 7 adults for this interactive, movement-inspired literacy event which included songs, Story Time, ninja movement and parkour culture.

Favorite quote: “My son is very shy. I have never seen him get this excited and participate in a reading program before. He loved it!”
Many thanks to St Elmo’s Coffee Pub for hosting us. We’ll see you next month for more ninja magic!
